Using vRealize Operations Manager for Monitoring on vSphere

This Post is a continuation of my previous post on "Getting Started with VMware Hands on Labs"

I'll be exploring how to collect Metrics from vSphere Environment.

Access the vrops home page by logging into the appliance using the chrome browser.

Click Administration, You'll see some policies that can be enabled for Monitoring Make sure the HOL policy is enabled

Next edit the HOL Policy both for Pods and VMs and enable the metrics.

Select all and enable them for VMs. Note, Most of the Metrics are already enabled.

Check the Metrics against a object already in vSphere. You can search for a VM from any search bar within the Manager.

Search "Windows-0602" it comes out under the Environment Tab

Click the Metrics tab. You'll see the vSphere environment diagram and the windows.

Double click on any Metrics. You can click the "Peak vCPU ready within collection" and view the graph within the given time Periods.
